Cookie Slabs

This week we created some clocks out of these cookie shaped pieces of wood. These slabs were taken from a local fallen apple tree, one of our favourite types of timber to work with. We got extra lucky with these pieces as they have knot holes, and these make for more interesting products. A great find!!

Each round is encompassed in resin, to achieve this we had to weigh down the wood in the moulds to prevent them from rising during the cure stage. We decided to leave one of the clocks in relief form – which a few people have said looks like a floating island in the sea. An effect we really like!

So, there may be more relief products on the way.
