Wood Collection

This week we collected some slabs of wood from our supplier, based on a local farm in Abberley. Nothing beats the smell of a wood filed warehouse!! The majority of the wood is harvested from storm damaged and dead standing trees. We picked up some beautifully high figured pieces of maple, apple and sycamore – pictured below.

We will now air dry the slabs so that the moisture percentage is roughly under 20%. After this we will dry them further in our home-made kiln so that they are ready to be worked with. Keep an eye on our Instagram to see what goods we create.
